MiLifeStatus co-organises GLOBALCIT Annual Conference 2019

The MiLifeStatus project co-organised the GLOBALCIT Annual Conference 2019 “The Value of Citizenship for Individuals and States”, which took place at the European University Institute in Florence on 21-22 November 2019.

This conference addresses the question of what value citizenship has for individuals and states from various disciplinary perspectives, including comparative political science, normative political theory, law, history, human geography and economics. Papers explore the instrumental and identity value of citizenship for individuals as well as for states. Panels focus on citizenship and social and political rights, citizenship and the politics of migration control, the governance of citizenship around the world, evolving conceptions of citizenship, and the value of citizenship for vulnerable groups.
